Wearables & Accessories Gently Worn & New Tween, Teens & Adult Ladies We Have SUM-thing For You!
Do you have SUM-thing great in your closet that you’re not wearing?
Why not turn it into SUM cash?
With a 60/40 split, unsold items returned to you or donated, and account balances easily available for payout or credited toward purchases, you have SUM-thing to gain and nothing to lose!
SUM Consignment Guidelines:
I am interested in consigning SUM items, what kind of condition should they be in?
- Items must be on hangers or in bins. (We give your hangers back.) Items must be freshly laundered, wrinkle free and ready to hit the sales floor; we do not steam or press consigned items. (Folding items neatly in paper shopping bags, baskets, plastic bins or on hangers will help keep your items free of wrinkles.)
- Items can’t smell of anything gross like mildew or smoke, or any other kind of general funkiness that will make someone gag.
- Items must be free of rips, stains, tears, pet hair and holes of any size.
- Items must be free of names or anything written on the tags.
- Items must have all working buttons and zippers.
- Any items found to be damaged after intake will be donated to one of the teen or ladies charities we work with.
When are you going to start taking items?
We are planning to take fall seasonal items starting July 24th!
How do you take the items for consignment?
When you first consign with us, we will set you up with an account. We accept merchandise by appointment or drop offs during our regular business hours. You can bring up to 15 items without an appointment, but for more than 15 items, please email email@example.com for an appointment.

Why did you reject my item? It’s in perfect condition, in style and in season!
It may be a perfectly perfect item, but our boutique might not be the right place for it. We may not have the right customer base, the demand or we may have too much merchandise or too much of that particular style. Don’t be offended. It’s not you, it’s SUM-thing else. 🙂
Am I allowed to whine, cry, argue, negotiate or be mean if you don’t take an item I bring in for consignment?
Nope. It’s not personal, we promise. We select items based on brand, style, condition, age, demand and space. We can’t take everything, but if your items have the right vibe for our customers and boutique, I bet we take SUM-thing!
Does Sum Girls Boutique take wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, real fur items or knock-off handbags?
How will I know what items you have taken on consignment?
You will be assigned an account number for on-line access. It will show an itemized report of the items taken in for consignment. All unaccepted items will be returned or donated, you choose!
How long will my consigned items be on the sales floor?
The sales floor time period is 60 days.
How do I know if my items are selling?
You will be assigned an account number for on-line access. You can check the status of your items at any time.
What about the consigned items that don’t sell within the 60 days? Do I get those back?
Yep! If you choose “return” when you drop off your items, you will be sent a pick up date when your items hit the sales floor. Consignors must pick up unsold items by this date. Any item left beyond this date will be considered abandoned and become property of Sum Girls Boutique. If you cannot make your pick-up deadline because of special circumstances, please contact us.
It’s the end of my consignment period. Now what?
Based on your choice of “Return” or “Donate,” Sum Girls Boutique will either donate your items to one of the teen or women’s charities we work with or hold the items until your pick up date. Any item left beyond this date will be considered abandoned and become property of Sum Girls Boutique. All consigners who choose to donate their unsold items will be provided with a charitable donation form for tax deduction purposes.
What if I don’t like how my item is priced?
We know you spend a lot on your items and it hurts not to get a full return on your investment, but SUM-thing is better than nothing, right? We price items based on customer demand and what they are willing to spend. We will work hard to make sure you get the most money possible for your items.
What if I want my consigned items back before the consignment period ends?
A lot of work goes into researching, pricing and placing your items on the sales floor so we ask that you leave consigned items in the store for the full 60 day selling period. If you need to get an item back before the consignment period ends, the consignor will be required to pay an “Early Pull” fee per item of 20% of the current price of the item(s). A 2 Day notice is also required so we can pull the item and take it out of the system.
Please Note: Any concern of a specific item’s price must be expressed at the time of drop off/appointment because once processed “Early Pull” of said item(s) will be subject to the early withdrawal fee.
How are items priced?
All items accepted on consignment will be priced to sell by Sum Girls Boutique. We base our pricing on market research and combined years of experience. Sum Girls Boutique reserves the right to determine prices, hold sales or mark down items at any time without consulting the consignor.
What percentage do I get on my items when they sell?
The consignor receives 40% of the final selling price.
How do I get my money, money, money?
We do not automatically send out checks but if you have money waiting and you want it, you got it! Payment by check is available by the 10th of each month. You can pick up your check or we’ll mail it to you for a $1.00 service fee. Checks will only be issued in amounts of $10.00 or more. Should you not have that amount in consignment sales for the previous month, it will accrue to the following month.
Does the money in my account ever expire?
Nope. When your item(s) sells, your percentage will go directly into your account and stay there until you decide to take it out or use it as store credit.
Who is responsible for the merchandise once it’s consigned with Sum Girls Boutique?
We promise to do our very best to sell and care for all consignments, but all consigned items are left at the consignor’s risk. Sum Girls Boutique is not responsible for any loss, damage or wear to your items while in our possession for consignment or storage purposes.
Thank you for considering a partnership with Sum Girls Boutique!
Let’s have SUM fun!
