I'm not good company at playdates either. I hate them too. I have, however, realized if you schedule them later in the day, bringing or serving wine helps immensely.

Couldn't agree more!! Sometimes when my mom has J, I pick up the phone with the intention of calling and telling her things to do, but then I remember that she did fine by me (well, sort of) but I should just let her do her thing and not call with my two cents. XOXO

The kids who can't stay without mom are totally fine, just not at your house. :) I think that is totally reasonable! Always love hearing from you. Thank you!!

Spot on, Robyn!

I can't remember having "playdates" as a kid...we just played with the kids of my parents' friends. "Go play" they said. Now we're so worried about kids social 'development' that we're stressing about playdates for our wee ones. Good grief.

And yes, drop-n-go. My neighbor friend and I 'borrow' each other's kids all the time or we'd never get anything done.

Excellent ruminations in your post. And don't get me started on the kids that can't stay without mom.... I might have to send you something privately on that subject, lest I have bricks thrown at my virtual head!

So funny and so true. But wait for what comes after the drop and go - then you have to check that they actually are at the friends cause they tell you they're going to Sally's place and Sally tells her parents they are going over to your place, or at least that's what I told my Mum. xo
