I totally agree that other people could have been mommy and daddy, but then your kid would be a totally different kid. It would be “their” kid. I love your story and I’m so happy you commented.

Good post. My oldest (bio) is 29 and we tried to have more kids for 10 yrs. before we decided if we were going to have more the old fashioned way wasn’t going to work. I really needed to have more children. The first time was S Korea the second time China because we had aged out of Korea. They are everything to us like their brother is. I love children period. I however don’t feel they were destined to be ours from the beginning of time like many other parents that have adopted. With our second adoption I had made a mistake on the dossier and instead of going to China in March we went in April. That month change meant a different child. I of course would have loved that baby as much as I love the daughter I have. I’ve had people say our daughters are so lucky. Maybe but I know there was an 18 month waiting list for our first daughter and China had and still has people lined up so I know that some family somewhere could have easily been Mommy and Daddy.

She’s not so thrilled with me right now either though.

I’m so sick of coats in the kitchen that I told them both if they don’t take their coats and put them where they belong they have to wear skinny jeans. I have busted them 3 times!! SKINNY JEANS FOR BOTH OF THEM! 3 DAYS!!! 🙂

I always say, someone else may have given birth to them, but they were born to be my babies! (Like the JBJ reference there?).
